[1 January 2001] | ISO 10383 MIC (Market Identification Codes) for exchange and market identification This International Standard (ISO 10383) provides a uniform structure for exchange and market identification codes (MICs). It is intended for use in any application and communication for identification of primary and secondary markets:
Where the financial instrument is listed (places of official listing) and
Where the related trade is executed (place of trade).
FIX 4.3 and higher have standardized on using ISO 10383 MICs for the "Exchange" data type. This link provides the current list of MICs as well as the ability for an exchange/market to request a MIC.
