IDSource and SecurityID go together. IDSource identifies the type of value which SecurityID refers to.

Examples:
22=1 48=459200101 (CUSIP for IBM)
22=2 48=0236913 (SEDOL for RTR.L Reuters in London)
22=3 48=6758 (QUIK for Sony in Japan)
22=4 (I don't know ISIN's but I think it's a combo of CUSIP and country or something)
22=5 48=RTR.L (RIC for Reuters in London)
22=6 48=JPY (ISO Currency code for Yen)
22=7 48=EN (ISO Country code for England)

One would not send an Allocation message referencing a country code but one might send a News message referencing a country code.

> How does the IDSource (tag 22) relate to the SecurityID (tag 48)? Specifically, if the user enters a value 22=7 (ISO Country Code), where is the ISO country code used? Is it included in the SecurityID field? If so, how is it displayed? I would appreciate a few examples, using tag 22=7 and tag 22=1 (cusip) or 2 (SEDOL).
