Topics by last update

Is there a simple way that the forum software could be modified to allow a user to see the topics that have had responses to most recently? By this I mean that while topics that are answered are normally recent ones sometimes you can see the text saying "last updated date zzzz" but you have to go back several pages to find the recent post.

I realise that most people (myself included) normally read the emails for topics we are interested in but sometimes one cannot read emails so just being able to look in a web browser is the next best option.

If we sort by last posting that would sort out this problem.
