Sequence Number Resets

I believe the FIX spec is quite clear on defining a session. I am referring to page 6 of the January 10th version (latest version) of the FIX 4.0 spec.

The first paragraph of the "SESSION PROTOCOL" section indicates each party should mutually agree as to when a session is to be restarted.

You should be able to LOGOUT as many times as necessary during a "session" so I would caution against using the Logout sequence as a session marker.

Although it takes a little more work to manage the session states for each counterparty, it is necessary when 1 server process handles sessions across different timezones/countries/markets.
