Are you essentially looking for a way to guarantee that a particular machine is in fact that machine, and a VPN was set up to talk to another specific machine ONLY for execution of orders (as an example), is that where you're going with this?

It sounds like you're trying to validate transaction source and destination machine, secure the connection using whatever network option is in place, execute and settle. Right?
