6 Feb 1998 8:26PM ETWhat if TestRequest/Heartbeat's are allowed after initiating a logout procedure? This way the initiator can be sure that the acceptor is still "alive" and sooner or later will reply with Logout. Then the phrase from the draft "appropriate timeframe" is pretty well defined by HeartBeatInt, the usual recovery procedures, etc.
After receiving a series of PossDup's and before replying with Logout, the acceptor can send TestRequest to make sure that there are no gaps in its version of the session.
