There are many possible scenarios which also depend on the environment (buy-side/sell-side or exchange environment) and the regulatory framework. Please refer to FIX Spec Volume 5 page 95 where trade amendments and trade breaks/cancels are explained.

Questions should be as specific as possible to increase the chance of getting a meaningful answer.
