1 Sep 2004 9:47AM ET I'd second that idea with caveats. A pure java fix engine should work on a mainframe which supports java, but there are other issues which you'd need to look at - if you want the engine to write to a relational database then you have to ensure your database runs on the mainframe.
Also, of the java based FIX engines I've used/evaluated there are often third party components - such as xerces and other open-source code. So you'd have to ensure that everything that underpins the FIX engine would work in mainframe land.
You should also post your original mail onto the Product Discussion board as vendors are not supposed to post "blatant solicitation" on this board.
