CORBA and FIX

17 Jun 1998 12:24PM ETI know that this is not really the place to post this but I figured it would get the attention of the people that would be most interested.
I recently spoke with some representatives of the OMG (the Object Management Group is the organization that is responsible for developing and promoting the CORBA standard). There is a "Financial Services" Domain group that is dedicated to creating standard CORBA interfaces for various financial services applications. It seems that it might make sense to use the FIX application layer message definitions as the basis for defining this.
The representative of the OMG requested the opportunity to present to the FIX Technical Committee on the advantages of such an approach. This working group might be a good place to start.
