the first response to this described ResendRequest should have MsgSeqNum 8, because this is the first SeqNo you have requested by your message.
If the SequenceReset Message you described (34 = 36 = 10) is sent later, this must be an error in the sending FIX engine: You are absultely right, that in case that 34 = 10, 36 must be > 10!
