FIXimate visitor feedback
Mahesh Kumaraguru <> 26 Dec 2007 12:26AM ETCurrently FIXimate Homepage at http://fixprotocol.org/FIXimate3.0/ has visitor feedback link in right side as "All feedback regarding this version of FIXimate should be directed to the [link=http://www.fixprotocol.org/discuss/53]FIXimate Enhancements[/link] discussion forum." The following are some recomendations regarding the way this link is presented and handled:-
1) This link is only available in the FIXimate home pages at FIX version level, its not available after user clicks left side link or textfield and button. If this link is moved to left sided pane, it will be available always :-) ie. in all pages. My preference would be to have it towards the top so that any new user who reaches this page is easily able to spot the keyword "Feedback".
2) Presently if not already logged in when clicking the link, the browser displays "You can't view that forum." If I am already logged into FIXProtocol.org, then the click reaches FIXimate Enhancements discussion forum. Is the FIXimate Enhancements forum open to all registered users? or is it like a project (internal) forum? I ask this because of two reasons:-
2.1)When I visit http://www.fixprotocol.org/discuss/ without logging in, the FIXimate Enhancements forum is invisible.
2.2)As of now, I see only 4 thin threads (only one message in each thread), I started 2 of these 4 ;-(
3)If its a project specific forum not open to all registered users of FIXProtocol.org, then is there a mechanism by which these others can contribute to FIXimate Enhancements?
To solve 3), I would recommend that a new open to public forum "FIXimate Users" or "FIXimate Feedback" is created, and the Feedback link on FIXimate is redirected to this forum.
Another recomendation:- When user clicks on link, if not logged on, redirect browser to login page http://fixprotocol.org/_login/ and server remembers to redirect to the "FIXimate Users" (or "FIXimate Feedback" :-) forum

K. Mahesh
