Why only "FIXED" Income community is interested in FIX certification?

Just wondering "Why only "FIXED" Income community is interested in FIX certification?" Because those who do NOT have a "FIXED" Income may belong to the community "Hey brother, could you please help me with a dollar, I need to ..." and so cannot afford to spend on FIX certification :-( Punn intended :-)
