FPL Announces Availability of the FIX 5.0 Specification Candidate Release

FPL is proud to announce the availability of the FIX 5.0 Release Candidate by the Global Technical Committee. The release been posted and is available for download at: http://www.fixprotocol.org/documents/2924/FIX_5_0_Candidate.zip. The .zip file includes 7 volumes and Release Notes.

Major changes in FIX 5.0 include:

•The enhanced support provided for foreign exchange trading.
•Enriched order routing features for reserve, peg and trigger orders.
•Major new support provided for post-trade and clearing processes for allocation, trade and position reporting.
•Market data optimization extensions to support book management.
•Support for Regulation NMS, OATS Phase 3, MiFID.
•Transport Independence Framework of FIX 5.0 which provides a separation of the session layer from the application layer. This additional piece of functionality provides a framework that enables different message versions to be used within the same FIX session.
