Fix 4.3 standards and field values

I have two queries here :
1) As per Vol6, Appendix 6-B the various standards which are supported are -
Bank Identification Code ISO 9362:1994
Country ISO3166-1:1997,
ISO 3166-2:1998
Currency ISO 4217:1995
Exchange/Market Code ISO 10383:1992
Security Identification ISO 6166:2001
Security Type/Classification ISO 10962:2001
These standards are different from ISO 15022, am I right ? From where are we supposed to get the list of values corresponding to each standard and then how can we get any updates done to them.
2) In the field value, whether it is of type integer, string or Multiple value string - are we supposed to trim the leading and trailing spaces or they should be considered part of value.
