FPL is pleased to announce the creation of two new committees open to all FPL members for participation – the FPL Global Membership Committee and the FPL Global Events Committee. The overall mission and objectives of each follow below.

FPL GLOBAL MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE (chaired by Brook Teeter, Credit Suisse)

Mission: To provide strategic guidance to continue to grow FPL membership globally by exploring ways to attract new members as well as retain current membership.

Objectives:
•        Make recommendations to the GSC for growing FPL membership and retaining current members by producing an annual member recruitment plan and strategy, and periodically reviewing and adjusting the plan as needed to support attainment of annual targeted recruitment and retention goals.
•        Ensure continuous value to FPL’s membership by evaluating the value proposition and recommending new services which would be of benefit to the membership.
•        Responsible for reviewing eligibility criteria for membership and for making recommendations with regard to changes to membership categories and dues.
•        Assist Program Office with membership renewals as and when needed.
•        Help build upon membership marketing materials.
•        Provide a feedback mechanism for membership.

FPL GLOBAL EVENTS COMMITTEE (chaired by Chris Pickles, BT)

Mission: To provide strategic guidance to ensure that FPL continues to run successful events globally to educate the wider community about the FIX Protocol.

Objectives:
•        Ensure control over all events including those outsourced (i.e. all event organisers should work under a contractual basis, which is renewed annually based upon performance).
•        Ensure that every event offers members significantly more benefits than non-members.
•        Further develop idea of FPL sanctioned training program.
•        Oversee FPL global events calendar to ensure no conflicts in terms of events going on at the same time in different regions.
•        Evaluate additional communication tools to help promote attendance at FPL organised events to a wider community of potential delegates.

If you are interested in participating in either or both groups, please send an e-mail directly to the FPL Program Office - fpl@fixprotocol.org. Details on the kickoff meetings will be sent to those individuals who have expressed interest once confirmed.
