Proposal : New message types to measure end to end round trip time

14 Dec 2008 7:15PM ET To measure the "end-to-end" time including the time within both the infrastructures - Buy side and Sell side, i.e. the time for a complete round trip :-

there are no known message types at present in FIX.5.0SP1 to provide this functionality. FPL FIX.5.0 Usage subcommittee / GTC could consider assigning new Message Types in FIX.5.0-SP2. The PingRequest message can be initiated by either side - Buy or Sell.
Tag 112 TestReqID can be used to correlate the Ping Respone to a Ping Request
