Venue of Execution pre-FIX 4.3

As 'venue of execution' as a MIC is a mandatory field in MiFID, how are others planning to represent this data in execution reports representing trades pre-FIX 4.3? Will they simply use LastMkt (tag 30) with a MIC value or maybe use the user-defined field 9292?
