Robert Colby Mr. Colby is a partner in Davis Polk's Washington DC office. He advises on complex regulatory and compliance matters involving securities and derivatives for broker-dealers, financial institutions, investment advisers, markets, and clearing organizations. Before joining Davis Polk in 2009, Mr. Colby served for 17 years as Deputy Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Trading and Markets, where he was responsible for the regulation of broker-dealers, securities markets, and clearing organizations. Previously, he was Chief Counsel of the Division and Chief of the Division's Branch of Market Structure.

Michael Santoli Associate Editor, Barron's Michael Santoli is an Associate Editor for Barron's, The Dow Jones Business and Financial Weekly. He writes the "Streetwise" column, offering a forward-looking take on the financial markets, illuminating market trends and identifying investment opportunities. Mr. Santoli is a regular on-air contributor to several cable and broadcast networks.
Prior to assuming his current position in November 2006, Mr. Santoli had been a senior editor for Barron's since May 2002, writing "The Trader" column, which covered the stock market and investment trends. Previously he had been mutual funds editor for the magazine since March 2000, when he wrote the "Fund of Information" column, edited the quarterly mutual-fund pullout sections and wrote cover stories for the magazine.
In August 1993, Mr. Santoli joined Dow Jones & Company as a reporter for the Dow Jones News Service and covered the securities industry. He moved to Barron's in February 1997 as a staff writer and wrote the "Commodities Corner." In 1998, he began writing the "Striking Price" column, covering the options markets.
Before joining Dow Jones, he worked in New York as a reporter/editor for Investment Dealers' Digest from June 1992 through early August 1993.
Mr. Santoli has received two Dow Jones Newswires Awards for distinguished real-time journalism. In 1995, he was a member of a team honored for a series of stories on the demise of D. Blech & Co., and in 1996, he and a colleague received an award for their coverage of the securities industry.

Scott Atwell Scott Atwell is the Manager of FIX Trading and Connectivity for American Century Investments, a leading investment manager committed to delivering superior investment performance and building long-term client relationships since 1958. Dr. John Bates Dr. John Bates is Chief Technology Officer of Progress Software. Progress is a NASDAQ-listed software solutions company and among other things is a leading supplier of algorithmic and high frequency trading, liquidity aggregation, real-time risk and market surveillance to buyside, sellside, trading venues and regulators. Prior to Progress, John founded Apama - the pioneering Complex Event Processing company. John is a frequent author and speaker on high frequency trading-related topics. Stuart Breslow Stuart Breslow is the Chief Executive Officer/Chief Information Officer of Townsend Analytics. Mr. Breslow joined Townsend Analytics in December 2005 and became Chief Executive Officer in April of 2008. As the Chief Information Officer (CIO), he is also responsible for Software/Technology Development, Infrastructure, and Operations. Prior to his roles in RealTick, Mr. Breslow was the Global Head of Client Facing Trading and Analytics Technology for Global Equities at Lehman Brothers and was also previously responsible for the development of Lehman's high-performance Equities Direct Market Access Trading platform. Mr. Breslow first joined Lehman Brothers in 2000 in the role of Global Head of Private Client Services Technology, responsible for the technology supporting the growing Investment Management and Private Wealth Management organizations. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Mr. Breslow was primarily focused on Private Client Technology, spending 8 years at PaineWebber (now UBS Financial Services) in senior technology roles servicing the firm's Financial Advisors and Private Clients, culminating with responsibility for all online client-facing activities for the bank. Scott DePetris Scott DePetris has been an integral part of Portware's success and has won the support of tier one financial institutions worldwide. Before joining Portware, Scott co-founded, and was vice-president of, ExchangeLab, Inc, an intellectual property development company for financial services technologies. While at ExchangeLab, Scott helped to orchestrate the sale of the company's primary asset, Financial Auction Network, to a consortium of investment banks, which was later launched as Primex. In addition to Primex, PDQ ATS was also conceived and spun out of ExchangeLab. Prior to this, Scott specialized in equity derivatives at The Goldman Sachs Group. Gregg Drumma Gregg Drumma is the Founder of Gamma Three Trading, LLC. Gamma Three Trading provides software solutions and consulting services for the global electronic trading and settlement markets. As an early adopter and proponent of FIX, Gregg has over 12 years of experience working with the protocol and developing trading solutions. He has been published multiple times and has been invited to speak at conferences around the globe on trading and settlement technology. Prior to launching Gamma Three Trading, Gregg was the Vice President of Electronic Trading Product Management at Linedata Services, Inc., one of the largest buy-side Order Management System (OMS) vendors. Candyce Edelen Candyce brings more than twenty-two years of experience in launching and managing technology companies and founded four companies prior to PropelGrowth. She has a background in product and company launches, developing successful go-to-market strategies and building sales, marketing, and delivery teams. Candyce helps firms in the financial services industry implement best practices for complex sales processes. She has extensive experience in lead generation and lead nurturing for complex sales, and is highly effective at building sales pipelines. She also has expertise helping marketing and sales organizations align their sales approaches to their customers’ buying cycles to maximize close rates for complex sales. For the past ten years, Candyce has focused exclusively in the capital markets industry, launching two financial technology companies. She was a co-founder and President of Kaskad Technology, which provided complex event processing technology (CEP) for compliance, algorithmic trading, risk management and fraud detection. At Kaskad, Candyce spearheaded the development a CEP-based real time market surveillance system for the Boston Stock Exchange. Prior to founding Kaskad, Candyce co-founded Selero, a provider of order routing, compliance, and integration technology for the financial services industry. Selero developed the FIX gateways that handled all inbound and layoff business for the National Stock Exchange, the FIX gateways to Nasdaq's SuperMontage, and provided order routing and direct market access connectivity for a variety of sell-side and retail brokers including Scottrade, E*Trade, and Bank of New York, among others. Candyce and her PropelGrowth team have helped more than 20 capital markets and financial technology providers refine their sales and marketing strategy to increase revenue and drive organic growth. Dmitri Galinov Dmitri Galinov is a Head of Liquidity Strategy at Credit Suisse Advanced Execution Services (AES). In his role, he is responsible for establishing relationships with new sources of liquidity, enhancing AES routing strategy, running AES Crossfinder and developing new routing products. Mr. Galinov joined Credit Suisse from Direct Edge ECN where he was Director of Strategy and helped a company grow from a small player into one of the major US trading destinations. Prior to Direct Edge ECN, he was at Lava Trading where he built and managed their buy side DMA product. Mr. Galinov is on the Board of Directors for BIDS Trading, L.P., and he is a member of the NYSE's Electronic Traders Advisory Committee (ELTAC). Neal Goldstein Neal Goldstein has been the US Head of Electronic Product Development at Nomura Securities International since December of 2008. Neal manages the electronic product and service team that covers high touch trading products for the equities division, including algorithmic trading engines, quantitative analytics, global program trading systems, cash OMS/EMS products and customized client connectivity solutions. Harry Gozlan Before co-founding smartTrade Technologies, Harry spent 12 years in trading and management activities in the OTC market areas in Brussels, Paris, London and New York, including seven years at Citibank and then at Credit Agricole Indosuez in Paris. As part of his banking experience, he managed interest rate activities (FF derivatives at Citibank, International Money Market desk at Caisse Nationale du Credit Agricole), as well as FX activities (Global Head of FX Options Activity at Credit Agricole). During these long years of activity, the risk profile was high with high-recurrent profits. Ruben Guerrero Ruben Guerrero is the Strategic Partnership Manager for Orc Software. He is responsible for all business development aspects of the Orc Vantage partnership program in the Americas. In this role he helps sell-side partners design and deploy sophisticated trading solutions for their buy-side clients. Currently Ruben is leading the firm's expansion into the Brazilian cash and derivatives markets. Pete Harris Pete Harris is President, Americas and Editor-at-Large at A-Team Group, a publishing, research and events company focused on the deployment of information technologies in the global financial markets. Pete is a regular contributor to A-Team's coverage of the financial markets IT space, focusing on front-office, low-latency, cloud and infrastructure technologies. Before joining A-Team, Pete worked as an independent consultant, advising technology innovators on how to best position their products and services to serve Wall Street and the financial markets. Prior to working as a technology consultant, Pete held a number of editorial, publishing and management positions - including Editor-in-Chief and President - at Waters Information Services (now Incisive Media). There, he spearheaded the company's move into events and online services. Earlier in his career, Pete specialized in software development. Bill Hebert William H. Hebert is currently executive director at CFS Consulting Services, LLC in Boston, MA. Mr. Hebert is responsible for strategy, business development, technology solutions and relationship management. CFS is a financial services-focused firm providing strategy, business, operational and technology solutions including product evaluations, system implementations, application development and staffing from a diverse network of experienced industry professionals. Before joining CFS, Mr. Hebert was the director of Strategic Business Development for Charles River Development. In this role, he was responsible for the growth of global alliances and connectivity solutions offered by Charles River, with a specific focus on institutional trading, electronic products, market structure, liquidity access and third-party partnership development and management. Mr. Hebert served for nine years as vice president and director of Strategic Development and Trading Solutions for Fidelity Capital Markets and the Institutional Products Group of Fidelity Investments, where he managed the various aspects of strategic business development, alliances and electronic trading solutions. Prior to joining Fidelity, Hebert was a director within the AutEx Group of Thomson Financial Services in Boston, where he managed the development and distribution of TradeRoute, AutEx's institutional order routing and trade execution reporting network. George Hessler George Hessler is Chief Executive Officer and President of Stock USA Execution Services, Inc. Mr. Hessler oversees all areas of the firm's operations, including the brokerage's core electronic trading business. Stock USA provides high-performance trade execution and brokerage services to high-frequency, institutional, broker-dealer and active-trading clients. Mr. Hessler joined Stock USA in April after serving as Executive Vice President of Lime Brokerage, an electronic agency brokerage. Prior to Lime, he served as Senior Vice President and member of the management committee of Lava Trading Inc., an innovative electronic trading firm that was acquired by Citigroup in 2004. While at Lava, he held various positions, including director of sales and head of strategy. Utilising his unique understanding and knowledge, Kevin has co-authored one of the world's most performant FIX engines with his company Rapid Addition Limited, Rapid Addition specialise in product innovation in the FIX marketplace, offers a range of high performance FIX engines and tools which are used to advance the trading capabilities of firms globally. Robert Hubbard Rob Hubbard is the Integration Business Manager for Bloomberg's Fixed Income Trading (FIT) Group which provides trade execution and STP services from the BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL SERVICE. Bloomberg have made extensive use of FIX for the many Fixed Income asset types and STP workflows that are provided to Buyside customers and Sellside dealers. Before joining Bloomberg in 2007, Rob worked within Fixed Income at JPMorgan Asset Management, London as the International Operating Officer after managing their European Euro conversion project in the late 1990's. Gary Jones Mr. Jones is President of Jones and Jones Consulting a firm specializing in technology and operations management in the Managed Solutions industry. He has over 24 years of experience as a leader in the managed solutions industry. He is currently serving as the Technology and Operations Liaison to the Money Management Institute (MMI) board of Governors supporting the MMI effort to deliver message standards to the industry. Tom Jordan Tom Jordan, President and CEO, founded Jordan & Jordan in 1990. From 1985-1990, he was the Managing Director of Knight-Ridder Financial/Americas. Prior to this, he was the Chairman of Monchik-Weber, a Wall Street consulting and product development firm. He also held development and marketing positions at IBM. Prior to his business career, Tom served as an officer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the First Cavalry Division and the 1st Infantry Division. Tom actively participates in many industry initiatives. He is the Advisory Chair of the Financial Information Forum, Advisory Committee member of the Consolidated Tape Association (CTA), Advisory Committee member of the Unlisted Trading Privileges (UTP) plan and a RTTM Industry Advisory Committee member. Arzhang Kamarei Arzhang Kamarei is a Partner at Tradeworx, a quantitative investment management firm with expertise in fully automated, high-frequency and medium-frequency equity market-neutral strategies. He has been responsible for business development and corporate strategy at Tradeworx, including the development of new trading businesses and the launch of Thesys Technologies, a Tradeworx subsidiary, in 2009. Arzhang began his career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the International Equities Division, where he served as a market-maker in European, Asian, and Canadian shares and was Co-Head of the Global Equity Financial Analyst Program. Andrew Karsgaard Andrew Karsgaard started his career in Equities IT at ING Barings in London, UK. After learning the fundamentals of equity order capture and trade systems (including exposure to a new-fangled protocol called FIX!), Andrew moved to the buy-side and was responsible for, among other things, the implementation of electronic trading systems in the FX space. Following his return to Canada in 2003, Andrew moved into a management role, responsible for the Middle Office and subsequently all Operations at State Street Global Markets Canada. This in turn was followed by a more strategic role as a business technology consultant at BMO Capital Markets. Andrew is currently responsible for client connectivity and DMA/Algo sales in the equity and equity derivatives space, and is actively involved in the creation and implementation of BMO Capital Markets' electronic trading strategy. Other committee work has included Chair, Bank of Canada FX Committee Operations Managers' Working Group (2006) and Member, Advisory Board, Urgent VC (2008 - present). Andrew lives in Toronto with his wife and 2 young children (4 and 1), and is a keen but now very occasional sailor. He is actively involved in a community-based adult literacy program in Parkdale. |

William Karsh William Karsh has served as Direct Edge's as Chief Operating Officer since July 2007. He originally joined Direct Edge in March 2006, serving as Chief Executive Officer while the company operated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Knight Capital Group. George Kledaras George Kledaras is a leader in developing financial software for instantaneous global trading anywhere, anytime, and most importantly, by everyone. He is the founder of FIX Flyer, a new technology company in New York City. He is also the author of numerous articles about electronic trading standards, and a frequent speaker on the major technology issues of our time. Kledaras started FIX Flyer in 2004 to re-invent low latency electronic trading infrastructure. Now more than ever, he says, "the securities industry needs sophisticated tools for managing diverse, networked communities in order to provide investors with more transparency and efficiency." In addition, he created new search based technology for core reporting including historical and real time trade, risk, commission management and monitoring for exchanges, ECNs and brokers. He is well known throughout the technology world as the founder, in 1996, of Javelin Technologies Inc. At Javelin, he was recognized as the leader in electronic trading software, especially through his initiative in creating the first high-speed messaging FIX engine built entirely in Java called Coppelia. Then, in 2000, he helped to ignite the world of high-speed global trading with Appia. Javelin was sold in 2002 to NYFIX and now owned by NYSE Technologies. Kledaras received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, and an MS degree in Mathematics from the Courant Institute at New York University. He is frequent lecturer on entrepreneurship. John Knuff John is General Manager of Equinix Financial Services. John Knuff is responsible for business growth across the global financial markets. He and his team regularly advise clients on complex network and systems deployment strategies for their trading infrastructure. Prior to joining Equinix, John was Managing Director at NYFIX where he was responsible for the deployment and ongoing operations of their global network and trading systems. Henry Young Henry Young is a founding director of Trading Systems Associates plc (TS-Associates), a firm that specialises in monitoring and analysis of networks and real time financial middleware products. TS-Associates' "TipOff" middleware analysis appliance leverages both FPGA and ASIC based hardware acceleration techniques in order to achieve real time capture, decode and analysis of 1GE and 10GE data flows. With a built in high resolution hardware based time stamping capability, TipOff is leading the charge into high resolution passive latency monitoring of direct exchange feed and transaction infrastructures. Prior to founding TS-Associates in 1999, Henry was a roving industry consultant splitting his time between London and New York with engagements for a variety of banks and exchanges. Henry led the team at MSB Consultants that, in the mid 90s, developed the RT Emulator - a product that delivered Reuters Terminal functionality integrated with six of the then available market data platforms. Henry holds an MSc in Computing from Imperial College and a BSc in Physics & Electronics from Edinburgh University. |

Dan Yu Daniel Yu is responsible for North and South American sales and relationship management at RealTick. Mr. Yu joined Townsend Analytics in 2009, bringing over 17 years of experience in electronic trading to his role. Prior to joining Townsend, Mr. Yu held a number of senior positions at Lava Trading, where his responsibilities included managing the sponsoring broker program and business development for the ECN and smart order router. Mr. Yu started his career as a sales trader at Instinet, moving on to head trader at The Griswold Co. and Puglisi & Co. He is active with several non profit organizations including The Ronald McDonald House of New York and Dress for Success. He has a BBA and MBA from the University of Notre Dame. |
