Moving On and Upwards
From its beginnings in late 2007, and acceleration in late 2008, the world's financial markets were in turmoil and the trading environment changed considerably. One year on and it is all very different, the markets are moving onwards and upwards, and it appears that the worst is very far behind us, but what do those outside of our industry think? What is the media's perception of the events of the past 12 months? Does the media believe we too are moving on and if so what can we expect from 2010?

Following the Recent Announcement, What is the Real Impact of Post-Trade Interoperability and Fragmentation?
Changes in market structure are not restricted to execution venues. In the post-trade arena there is an increasing number of both domestic and international CCPs that are looking to provide services across multiple venues. This is leading to fragmentation, but will this fragmentation mean stronger levels of competition, which in turn should lead to increased innovation, and improvements in price and service levels? Or is it likely to introduce a level of risk which is yet to be understood?
The session will explore how fragmentation in the post-trade arena is being addressed and if one single, transparent interoperability convention could be the solution.
