- FPL Announces Two New Global Leaders
- FPL announces the appointment of two new global leaders. Justin Stephan, Director of Trading Applications at Wellington Management Company has been appointed the new Co-Chair of the FPL Global Steering Committee, the group responsible for driving FPL’s strategy worldwide, while Greg Wood, Vice President of Advanced Execution Services, Credit Suisse, has joined other senior market participants as a FPL Director.

- New FPL Leaders Drive Initiatives to Support EMEA's Trading Community
- FPL announces the election of its newest leaders in EMEA. Stuart Baden Powell of RBC Capital Markets, is the new Co-Chair of the FPL EMEA Regional Committee, the group responsible for driving FPL’s strategy in the region. Jim Kaye of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, is now adding the responsibility of Co-Chair of FPL’s EMEA Business Practices Subcommittee to his existing role as Co-Chair of FPL’s Global Steering Committee. The Business Practices group works to identify how business challenges impacting the region’s trading community can be addressed through the use of standards.

- To More Effectively Meet Industry Needs FPL Republishes Latest Version of FIX
- FPL is pleased to announce that FIX 5.0 Service Pack 2 has been republished. This version of the protocol was initially released for industry adoption in 2009. FIX is a living and constantly developing standard, and since this time FPL has benefited from the thoughts and perspectives of its users that have highlighted areas they feel would benefit from cosmetic enhancements. The FIX 5.0 Service Pack 2 Errata specification is now available for industry adoption and may be downloaded from the FPL website at www.fixprotocol.org/specifications.

- FPL Buy-Side Representatives Create Best Practices Around Execution Venue Reporting
- FPL launched Buy-Side Working Groups in the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific regions and one issue they prioritized was an inconsistent response from the broker-dealer community with regards to broker reporting of the execution venue on each fill. As a result, they have created a rules of engagement / best practices document to help resolve these challenges.
