·Identify how the protocol should be used or
developed to address emerging business needs e.g. CP176.
·Increase levels of standardisation
in the use of the protocol through identifying and resolving/communicating
areas of ambiguity i.e. identify "best practice".
·Seek to identify and address practical FIX
implementation issues.
·Provide a forum in which business issues
surrounding the protocol can be aired and, where appropriate, to address and
clarify issues through the creation of appropriate working groups.
·Work with other similar work groups to minimise duplication and, where appropriate, pool
resources.
