John Munro has been developing back office application software for the futures industry since 1973, when he left IBM to join Geldermann and Co. in Chicago to develop their back office system. He was co-founder of Brokerage Systems, Inc. in 1980, which merged with Rolfe and Nolan in the early 1990's.

John has served in many capacities for R&N in its U.S. division, including design, development, installation and customer support. As Senior VP of Product Design, his principal duties now include regulatory compliance and new product design, and he is the primary architect of the RISC Foreign Exchange system.

He is an active member of the Futures Industry Association, serving as First Vice President of its IT Division; he was Chairman of the FIA's Y2K Subcommittee and now chairs the IT Standards Working Group, which is coordinating the implementation of FIXML at the U.S. exchanges.
