UL IRIS - Pre-trade Risk Management

Pre-trade risk management consists in checking orders coming to your connectivity platform before routing them to execution venues. Such a check prevents input errors or excessive risk. It is highly recommended to brokers providing clients with a direct market access (DMA).
The UL IRIS pre-trade filtering module is natively embedded in the UL BRIDGE connectivity and order routing platform. This ensures optimal performance (high throughput and very low filtering latency).
UL IRIS offers multiple filters, which can be combined to create complex risk policies:
- Filters on WHAT you trade (capital, quantity, market, instrument, position)
- Filters on HOW you trade (order types, price reasonability, side, order flow, order load, time)
- Filters on WHO is trading (users, client, groups of users or clients, pairs users/clients)
Filters are defined and monitored by the broker from a user-friendly interface. Alerts are sent when a client or a trader is getting close to any set limit or filter. The risk manager can then react accordingly: warn the user, modify the limit or filter, or even suspend trading for this particular account. All this in real time, throughout the trading session and without having to restart the system.
