FPL Electronic Trading - Southern Africa Conference 2006
The FIX Protocol Limited (FPL) Southern Africa Conference is taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on 10 March 2006. The Southern Africa Committee hosts the second (annual) FPL conference, and the objective is for current and potential users of electronic trading technology, to collaborate, network, learn and strategise with industry colleagues. Attending the event will explain the benefits of electronic trading technology and how trading tools may be applied across asset classes.
FIX (Financial Information eXchange) is an industry-driven messaging standard that is changing the global financial services sector. FIX is the de-facto industry standard in the pre-trade and trade space and it is rapidly gaining adoption for post trade communication. Buy-side and sell-side firms, exchanges and service providers use the protocol to transact in an electronic, transparent, cost-efficient and timely manner. The implementation of trading technology and usage of FIX will increase Straight Through Processing (STP) throughout the lifecycle of a trade.
FIX Protocol Ltd works with market regulators and other industry bodies to expand the standard across investment, product and asset class. The protocol is actively used for electronic communication within the equities, derivatives, fixed income, and foreign exchange markets.
Attendance is free of charge to financial service participants in the SADC region. FPL reserves all rights of attendance and registration, with participation limited to 325 attendees. To register for the conference please send an email to before 28 February 2006 including the following details: Delegate name, Company, Title/Position, Phone number and E-mail address.
